"If you know how to open your heart and mind so as to be available to God, you will discover « your vocation », in other words, the plan which God, in His love, has devised for you from eternity. You will be able to build a family. Through the witness of your own life, you will be able to confirm that even amid all the difficulties and obstacles, it is possible to live Christian marriage to the full, as an experience filled with meaning. Or if this is your vocation, you will be a religious Sister, a religious brother or a priest, giving your life to Christ and to the Church with an undivided heart and thus becoming a sign of God’s loving presence in today’s world". "Do not be afraid. God is not put off by our fear. God’s generosity knows no limits." Jean Paul II, Berne, June 2004 If a vocation is a call from God, it is in prayer that you will find that special, intimate space to listen to Him. If you spend time with God as one does with a dear friend, His voice will become familiar to you. To pray for vocations means to pray both for the call and the response, for those who have already begun to respond, those who are struggling to respond, all those whom the Word of God has captivated and who are seeking His face.
TO BECOME A SISTER OF SAINT JOSEPH OF CLUNY... Discover whether God is calling you Get to know us and let us get to know you over a (flexible) period of time: "Come and see". The postulancy Discover the riches and the demands of religious life as lived in our congregation and prepare yourself to give God a response that is free and based on a solid faith. The postulancy can last anywhere from 6 months to 2 years. The novitiate This is a time of formation based on the person of Christ, and initiation into the living of the evangelical counsels, prayer and community life. This takes place over a period of 2 years: the first year in the novitiate house is uninterrupted; during the second year part of the training takes place in an apostolic community. The Juniorate The novice who is confirmed in her determination to give herself to God and in whom superiors see genuine signs of a vocation, is admitted to temporary vows for three years, renewable once, as a general rule. She is then appointed to an apostolic community and will continue her religious formation and professional studies. Perpetual vows After six to nine years, the Sisters who ask and who are admitted, make their donation to God in the congregation irrevocable. They prepare for this final commitment by two months of prayer and reflection. Ongoing formation will continue for the rest of their lives
