Religious of apostolic life, rooted in prayer, gathered together in fraternal community. Attentive to the cries of today’s world, available for the mission, inserted into the local context, while remaining open to the world. To live in the spirit of our Foundress, we seek, according to her recommendations, "to preserve the interior spirit in the midst of the distracting duties of our state and especially to walk always in the presence of God" (Letter 98). To this end each day we devote a fairly long time to prayer, both personal and community, every month a day of retreat, and every year a retreat of eight days. "To do the Will of God, that’s everything! We must seek it in everything, love to do it and to make it loved", said Anne Marie Javouhey. For us, as it was for her, it is in seeking and accomplishing this Will that we are united to Christ, for it draws us to the depths of the mystery of the Word Incarnate. Religious consecration expresses more fully our baptismal consecration. It enables us to participate in a special way in the life and holiness of the Church. It is a constantly renewed response to God’s ever faithful love. Our consecration, lived according to the Constitutions of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Cluny, places us in a fraternal community gathered together in answer to a common missionary call. It commits us to an apostolic service through which we show our love of God and of our neigbour. The community, united in the name of the Lord, offers us a home where we can live a life of prayer and affection. We share our joys and difficulties and together we seek to discern the calls of the Holy Spirit, interpret the signs of the times and respond to them as best we can. Profession of the vows – religious obedience, consecrated chastity and evangelical poverty, binds us more intimately to Christ. It takes possession of our whole being in an offering which brings us face to face with the demands of a life animated by the spirit and joy of the beatitudes.
"Let us be ready to go wherever Divine Providence calls us. Let us have no other desire but to do the Holy Will of God." A.M. Javouhey
